Meet our new wine buyer, Brian

Pettyjohn’s Liquor and Wine is proud to introduce our new wine buyer, Brian, who brings over five years of experience in the wine industry to our team. Brian has a passion for all things wine and is dedicated to sourcing great quality wines from around the world at competitive prices.

He began his career in the wine industry working the stock room at Chamber St Wines. A well-established boutique wine shop in New York City, where he quickly discovered his love for wine. From there, Brian continued to expand his knowledge and expertise, working at a variety of wine shops and restaurants before landing at Pettyjohn’s Liquor and Wine.

Brian is excited to curate a unique and diverse selection of wines for our customers. He is committed to showcasing wines that are not only delicious but also represent the unique terroirs, cultures, and traditions from which they come. Brian is also passionate about providing exceptional customer service and is always happy to share his knowledge and help customers discover new and exciting wines.

We are thrilled to have Brian as our new wine buyer, and we look forward to the incredible wines that he will bring to our store. Lamadrid Single Vineyard Malbec 2020

Blackberry, blackcurrant, tobacco, peppercorn aromas. Medium-to-full-bodied with firm, tight-grained tannins. Firm and spiced. 9 Months in all used French Barrells. Agrelo vineyards @ 3,300 feet elevation.

Inkarri Malbec

The Inkarri Malbec has that opaque, dark purple color that stains the glass. It throws off heady aromas of deep blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, plum, green herbs, dry spices, and a touch of smoke. It is well balanced, with layers of dark berry fruits, spice and a long dry finish.

Catena Malbec 2019

A blend of three different high elevation vineyards in Mendoza. %100 malbec, aged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd used barrels. Aromas of violets and red berries, along with a textbook soft velvety mouthful. Always a crowd favorite.

Alamos Malbec 2020

A robust symphony of dark fruit that captures the complexity of Mendoza’s iconic varietal. Notes of black cherry and blackberry integrate with finely grained spice and vanilla oak. Notes of wild berries and round tannins fill out the palate, leading to a long and velvety smooth finish with a touch of dried herbs. A warm growing season during 2020 accelerated ripening and led to the earliest harvest on record. As a result, the berries harvested were small with expressive, concentrated flavors and ideal acidity.
