Double-O Seven Delights for Dad

Name’s John’s, Pettyjohn’s. This not-so-top-secret tasting will have something different about it. A certain ‘Je ne sais quoi.’ It’s the perfect tasting to say ‘Adios’ to the workweek and ‘Bienvenido’ to the warm Father’s Day weekend. Bring your palate passport for our delectable globe-trot, as all four wines are worldy and “Hella dank, brah.” (I’ve tried working that one in for a while now 😀 )

Join us and not Charlie tonight for our wine tasting, FREE every Friday, 5-7pm. 21+

OUR THOUGHTS: Très Bon!

Basa Blanco- Reg. $12.49 SALE $10.49

Basa was the first wine ever to be produced by the Compania, and derives its name from the country’s ancient ‘baso’ (goblet)-shaped bushvines. The Verdejo and Viura blend from Rueda has year after year been named one of Spain’s and the world’s great white wine values. The intense floral aromatics, freshness and wonderful texture are the result of the high elevation plantings in lime and gravel soils, with good drainage, that give rise to some of the best quality white wine grapes in Spain.

DV Catena Malbec- Reg. $20.99 SALE $17.99

DV Catena Malbec-Malbec is a blend of Malbec grapes sourced from two different vineyards. The “Angélica” Vineyard confers ripe plum flavors, silkiness and good volume on the palate. La Pirámide Vineyard adds black berry fruit and spicy notes of black pepper and clove. The result is a complex wine of intense flavors that linger on a long, velvety finish.

  • Varietal: 100% Malbec
  • Alcohol: 14%
  • Aging: 18 months in French oak (50% new)

Pedroncelli ‘007’ Cabernet- Reg. $26.99 SALE $19.99

“We first planted Cabernet Sauvignon in the early 1960s and now have 18 acres on our estate.  Block 007 was replanted in 1992-on the Scott Henry trellis system which splits the cordon arms into a double tier with the upper arm usually bearing about 3 tons of grapes per acres while the lower arm bears about 2 tons per acre.  This achieves optimum ripeness and the vineyard is well drained, right next to Canyon Creek where it is gravelly with the ideal growing conditions for this full bodied wine. Ripe red currant aromas with plum and warm spice flavors.”
