4/20 Tasting: Get ‘Stone’d w/Robin

Tonight’s tasting welcomes back Robin, who traveled around the fjords of Scandinavia and now needs his good ol’ American hop fix. Join in and taste some new brews from the always celebrated Stone Brewing and a newcomer in Open Door Brewing out of Boulder County. Robin, Certified Cicerone Beer Server, will pour four from 5-7pm.

Devastatingly Dank Enjoy By 4/20 Double IPA

“Our all-important, hop-driven quest to deliver the most devastatingly fresh IPA on the planet facilitated a paradigm shift in 2012 with the launch of Stone Enjoy By IPA. Not only did we brew this beer with more than 10 different hops, we brewed it specifically NOT to last. Acclaimed for its groundbreakingly short shelf life, this intense double IPA brought forth a whole new concept of what constitutes “fresh” – guaranteeing fans the ultimate level of hoppiness. This devastatingly dank stash of our dry-hopped, hop- bursted double IPA won’t last long. Get your hands on this dank, golden beauty before everyone else gets wind of it.”

Stone Red X IPA

“Pat-ASK-ala? Pata-SKALA? Pa-TASK-a-la? While those in the know favor the third pronunciation, no matter how you say it, this is a unique red IPA. The beer was first brewed in September 2015 to support music and arts education programs in Pataskala, Ohio, where Stone co-founder Greg Koch grew up. People there loved it, so we added the beer to our seasonal lineup, and the Pataskala name stuck. The crimson hue is courtesy of a special German malt variety by BESTMALZ® called Red X. Appearances, however, only tell so much. Heavily dry-hopped with Mosaic, Cascade and Amarillo hops, the beer is incredibly citrus-forward, rounded out with notes of biscuit and toffee from the malt bill.”

Open Door Libertas Cream Ale

“Our flagship is an ode to the American Spirit. With Liberty hops and a dose of rye, this sessionable ale envokes spicy notes of the revolution, while the Columbus hops add a shot of citrus heard round the world. On a scale of one to freedom, we give it a 1776.”

Open Door Short Arms IPA

“A beer 65 (million) IBUs in the making… Our Cretaceous IPA is everything a dino could ask for! Spice, pine, and citrus hit you like an epoch ending asteroid. A subtle rye character blends with with a hop punch, making this one for the history books.”
See you tonight!
