Easter Bourbon-Glazed Ham

Jim Barry’s Watervale Riesling- Reg. $16.99 SALE $13.99

Up first this week we have the Watervale Riesling by Jim Barry. This wine displays the classic Watervale aromas, showing pure Riesling characteristics of fresh lemon-lime citrus, floral honeysuckle and a creamy richness. The flavors are fresh lemon citrus-y, with soft mineral acidity supported by the persistent and mouthwatering finish. An absolute delight to drink, this wine is the perfect wine for Easter weekend; It pairs perfectly with ham and is wonderful for the warmer weather we have been having recently. Don’t miss out on your chance to try this wonderful wine!

Bulfon Piculit Neri- Reg. $17.99 SALE $14.99

Second up for the night we have the Bulfon Piculit Neri, a type of wine few people have ever heard of. This is a plump and bright red wine from northern Italy that opens with warm notes of moist earth and bright red cherry. There’s a subtle point of sourness on the close followed by crispness and medium persistency. Light and clean on the palate, this we think this wine will pair excellently with ham and have it set up in our “Wines Great with Ham” display. Another bottle that is perfect for Easter weekend and beyond, this is one you won’t want to miss trying! When was the last time you can say you tried Piculit Neri?

Bouchard, Pere, and Fils Bourgogne- Reg. $18.99 SALE $16.99

Third up we have the Bouchard, Pere and Fils Bourgogne Rouge, which is a really fancy name for their Pinot Noir from the Burgundy region of France. This Pinot Noir has a nose full of red-fruit and fruit tree blossom along with subtle perfume and floral notes. The palate has fine, smooth tannins and a refreshing acidity which carries the fruit flavors to the finish. An excellent value for wine of this quality, we tried it before the Holiday season and haven’t been able to stop ordering it. Come give it a taste and see why our staff has been taking this wine home on a regular basis!

Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvee- Reg. $19.99 SALE $16.99

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvee. Made up of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauv. and 2% Malbec, this is a beautiful Bordeaux styled blend. Strong and lush fruit fill the nose and palate without overpowering the wine. Perfectly balanced, this wine is dangerously easy-drinking with a soft texture and lush finish that while dry isn’t aggressive in any way. A perfect food pairing wine as well, we brought this one back to put in our “Wines great with Lamb” display. No matter the occasion this is a wine that makes everything better.
