Durigutti Reserva- Reg. $49.99 SALE $21.99

First up this week we have the Durigutti Malbec Reserva, a previous champion of Malbec Madness. Ripe and massive, this wine fills up your palate from start to finish. Raspberry and boysenberry notes burst in the initial taste and are mirrored in the nose. The middle is earthy and dusty with lingering fruit notes. The finish is layered with mocha and licorice along side the characteristic spicy Malbec finish. Another one of those “don’t miss trying this” bottles, this is yet again a wonderful wine to start off the final week of Malbec Madness!

Catena Alta Malbec- Reg. $52.99 SALE $42.99
Second up and facing off against the Durigutti Reserva we have the Catena Alta Malbec. This wine is deep violet in color with indigo highlights. The nose has aromas of ripe red and black berry fruits with notes of violets and lavender and hints of leather and a touch of spices. The wine is full-bodied and rich, with sweet tannins and a smooth structure, offering multiple layers of of blackberries and black currant with hints of licorice, vanilla, and black pepper. This wine’s lengthy finish shows beautiful minerality with fine tannins and lively acidity. Don’t miss trying it yourself and seeing if it can beat the Durigutti!
Achaval Ferrer Malbec- Reg. $26.99 SALE $19.99

Third up for the evening we have the Achaval Ferrer Malbec, a first year entry to Malbec Madness. This wine pours bright ruby-red and looks beautiful in the glass. The nose is fresh and floral, featuring blackberry, raspberry and violets. On the palate the wine is dense, thick with a noticeable mineral frame and notes that mirror the fruits expressed in the nose. Old World acidity with silky tannins and a lengthy finish give this bottle complexity and distinction while not over-powering the qualities of more New-World style Malbecs that this wine opens with. Don’t miss the chance to try this excellent Malbec in its first year of Malbec Madness.
Trivento Golden Reserve- Reg. $19.99 SALE $15.99
Last up for the night, and the first round of Malbec Madness we have the Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec. The wine begins with a very attractive aroma full of violets, lavender, blackberries and cola. Plum, blackberry, black cherry, licorice, a little spice and herbs are all on display in this very tasty and balanced medium to full-bodied wine. Fine tannins and even a bit of minerality lead into the long, satisfying and slightly dusty finish which features some lingering notes of chocolate and tobacco. An excellent way to finish out Round 1, don’t miss out on this one!
