Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec- Reg. $10.99 SALE $8.99
First up this week, and first up for Malbec Madness (!!!) is the Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec. Purple-colored, this is a full on Malbec.  The nose offers up plum and black cherry notes with a touch of black pepper. The palate is soft and round with ripe, saturated berry flavors that carry the wine along. It finishes spicy and full with chewy tannins and a pleasant, lingering aftertaste. It’s a wonderful example of Malbec, especially at this price point. Don’t miss trying to wonderful bottle out, and if you love it, make sure to vote for it!
Trivento Reserve Malbec- Reg. $10.99 SALE $8.99
Second up for the evening, and facing off against the Trapiche, we have the Trivento Reserve Malbec. While I’m tempted to call this the “baby-brother” of the Trivento Golden Reserve (a long time store favorite) this wine is anything but babyish. Deep red and violet in color, with powerful aromas of ripe red fruits, strawberries and cherries, with hints of coffee and chocolate from the oak, this wine shows up as soon as you start to pour it. Good body and fleshy tannins with a long, lingering finish, this is another one not to miss out on!
Catena Malbec- Reg. $20.99 SALE $17.99

Third up is the Catena Malbec, a long time store favorite and a frequent contender in Malbec Madness. Another huge wine, this bottle pours an inky violet as it hits the glass. Ripe, bordering on rasiny aromas of concentrated fruit along with subtle notes of cedar, graphite and Earth. The palate is also concentrated and grabby, with excellent tannin structure and lots of jammy fruit before leading into spicy and gamey flavors. Firm acidity rounds out the finish and ensures this bottle will age nicely. Obviously you never want to miss free wine, but that’s extra true with this. It’s one we’re sure you’ll love!
Tapiz Malbec- Reg. $19.99 SALE $17.99
Last, but certainly not least, we the Tapiz Malbec. Another deep and inky Malbec, it’s a strong contender in Malbec Madness and a great one to face off against the Catena. This is a silky and bold wine with wonderful depth of fruit and aromas of black fruits, black pepper, tangerine skin and even flint. Very refined tannins give this wine wonderful structure and a beautiful texture along side of a bright and clean minerality. An excellent way to close out the first week of Malbec Madness, make sure to come in and cast your vote for your favorites. It just might be this one!
