Fuente Milano Verdejo Viura Blend- Reg. $11.99 SALE $10.99

First up this week we have the Bodegas Pedro Escudero Fuente Milano Verdejo Viura, which is the longest name for a wine ever. That being said, this wine is a brilliant greenish-yellow colorr, with an elegant nose that displays the classic, gentle herbal notes of Verdejo which are softened by the tropical fruit-scented Viura. In the mouth, Fuente Milano has a certain weighty oiliness to its texture, with a range of very fresh, white and yellow fruits adding complexity. Expressive, with good length, it’s an easy bottle to pair with just about anything. Come see for yourself!
Pomerols Picpoul de Pinet- Reg. $11.99 SALE $10.99
Next up this week, we have the Pomerols Picpoul which has always been a favorite around our store. It is light colored and full of aromas of grapefruit and exotic fruit. Citrus flavors, with focused acidity, are typical of Picpoul, this one included. This wine is sure to appeal to everyone with its easy drinking attitude but surprising amount of depth. A great wine by itself on a nice Fall day, or served with appetizers or seafood. While it’s a great value in the bottle, we also have this in a box wine format. Come give it a try!

Sola Syrah- Reg. $13.99 SALE $9.99

Third up for the evening we have the Sola Syrah, from our “Featured Winery” display. This wine is excellent with the nose opening with dark berries, fudge brownies, molasses and strawberry. This is a silky smooth, with an edge, Syrah. It tastes of ripe blueberry, blackberry, plum, chocolate and black licorice. The mid-palate brings a dash of espresso, black pepper, a little slap of curry spice and a parting hit of tart raspberry. There is good weight to the body of this wine, the tannins and the acidity are well-integrated and the finish is full and long. For such a reasonably priced bottle, it’s got a lot going on and isn’t one you want to miss!

Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge- Reg. $16.99 SALE $14.99
Last up we have the Guigal Cotes du Rhone. Full of spice and smokey cherry along with dark berry aromas are complemented by suggestions of candied violet and cracked pepper. Spicy, energetic and sharply focused on the palate, offering concentrated bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors that open up slowly with air. Distinctly northern Rhône in personality and texture, featuring a peppery, floral-dominated finish, smooth tannins and excellent closing thrust and persistence. The quality of this wine consistently outpaces its price and appellation, and that’s especially true in this vintage.
