Sipper-stitious Wine Pours

Tonight we welcome all those down-on-your-luck folks with open arms and open bottles. If you are one who finds themselves walking under ladders, breaking mirrors, and finding too many cats crossing your path, we have a perfect fix for you. Nine out of ten liquid doctors recommend joining us tonight from 5-7pm for a wine remedy concocted by Charlie, whom will be wearing his lucky sweater. If that doesn’t cure your bad luck, you can also try drinking three Bloody Mary’s in the dark. If we rated this wine tasting on the clover-finding scale, we’d give it 4-leaves. Join us tonight!

First up this week we have the Chateau d’ Oupia Rosé. A wonderfully refreshing rosé of Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, with a beautiful pale salmon color, pretty aromas of pear and white peach with a hint of flowers. White and yellow fruits, along with some citrus notes, show through on the palate with a strong showing of minerality. Light weight and very refreshing with crisp, tart acidity, this wine makes a great aperitif or serve it with light foods such as chicken, Asian foods, fish, pasta in white sauce or seasonal salads. Rosé is just for the summer anymore, come check it out!
Yalumba Unwooded Chardonnay- Reg. $11.99 SALE $8.99
Up next we have the Yalumba Unwooded Chardonnay. From crisp lively citrus, through to the fuller peach flavours, this wine is bursting with character while still retaining its natural zing. Cool processing and wild fermentation were used to brighten up the bottle, with the wine being allowed time on its yeast lees which leads to richness and complexity. Fresh tropical fragrances  in the nose provide a tantalizing notes of rich, creamy peach and nougat flavors. With its subtle spiciness and crisp finish this is a lively white wine with a touch of new-age flair. This is our featured Chard right now and there is no better time to give is a pop!
Sola Meritage- Reg. $13.99 SALE $9.99

Third up for the evening we have Sola Meritage from our Featured Winery Display! On the nose the wine has notes of dark raspberry, plum, tobacco and a prevailing earthiness. The palate showcaes black fruits, dark chocolate, licorice and sage. It has medium acidity with medium-round tannins and a pleasant fullness to the mouthfeel. The finish lingers on raspberry, dark fruits and a touch of cocoa. A great bottle for the colder weather we will probably have in the coming weeks, it’s great by itself with friends or pair it with heavier comfort foods. Come check it out while we have it open and on sale!
Artezin Zinfandel- Reg. $14.99 SALE $12.99
Last up for the night we have the Artezin Zinfandel.  This wine has been around Pettyjohns for a while but recently has become a store favorite. The color is bright crimson red with a violet hue. The aroma is very bright, showing fresh raspberry, boysenberry and pomegranate fruit, followed by classic “zinny” spice of nutmeg, cinnamon and black pepper. The fruit and spice continues on the palate, which is again fresh with hints of blueberry and huckleberry. The texture is round and rich for easy drinking and the tannins add to the lush mouthfeel. 91 points from Wine Enthusiast, come check this one out!
