Divine Wine and Royal Oils
Don’t miss tonight’s special tasting. Ann Coppinger, Pettyjohn’s owner, loves five things in this world- her family, wine, Motown, crab cakes, and OLIVE OIL. Tonight she will share her passion of olive oil with you as she divvies out light, medium, and heavy oils on top of Kim & Jake’s bread and some sea salt. Charlie also pours wine for a super-duper extra-delectable pairing. We’re not sure how you can get any healthier than joining us for olive oil and red wine. Convince your friends to join you and we’ll please your palettes from 5-7pm.

Nicolas Fueillatte Champagne- Reg. $40.99 SALE $31.99
To start off this weeks tasting we have the beautiful Nicolas Fueillatte Champagne. Pale yellow with silver tinges, this wine looks great in a glass, with a persistent stream of delicate bubbles. The nose starts off with fresh white fruit and light notes of turmeric and other spices. As it opens up, more ripe fruits are displayed. The palate is clean and elegant, displaying similar fruits to the nose while still having a few surprises. A truly wonderful Champagne, perfect for the Holidays!
Trimbach Dry Riesling- Reg. $21.99 SALE $18.99
Up next we have the Trimbach Dry Riesling. Riesling gets a bad rap sometimes for being too sweet but this one will totally change your opinion on the grape! The intense acidity and pronounced minerality come together in this fantastic wine, supporting flavors of white peach, almond, lemon confit and wet stone with a long, mouthwatering finish. It’s a very versatile wine, able to be paired with just about anything but we have it set up in our Ham display. It’s a perfect bottle to open up just about anytime as we gear up for the holidays!
Brandlin Estate Cabernet Sauvignon- Reg. $54.99 SALE $46.99
Third up we have the Brandlin Cabernet. One of the best wines we tasted this year, we wanted to share it with everyone! This cab is overflowing with boysenberry, black cherry and dark, plummy fruit. Along with the rich fruit profile we find plenty of aromatic intrigue, with playful notes of olive and sage as well as coffee, cocoa and hints of mocha. Complex and plush the wine finishes with long, silky tannins that are round and persistent on the finish. Enjoy now, or lay down for long cellaring as this wine should drink well over the next 10 to 20 years. Another great bottle to open for the Holidays, it will also make a gift!
Sichel Sauternes- Reg. $19.99 SALE $16.99
Last up for the night we have the Sichel Sauternes, a classic example of a French dessert wine. Sémillon and Sauvignon combine harmoniously to offer a highly expressive bouquet of citrus notes and jammy fruit with a hint of honey. Over an ample, richly extracted base, the palate displays a many-layered, persistent aromatic array of jammy orange and dried fig notes. A wonderful wine to have after any meal this holiday season, it pairs well with cheese, fruits and some great company. If you haven’t started enjoying dessert wine, now is the time!
See you tonight!
