Odell- Thirsty Thursday Beer Tasting

This week, Robin has four Odell beers that will assault your palette with hoppy greatness. Whether you want to be pummeled or peppered, these four vibrant variations will leave you begging for more. Hop to it!

Last week Robin poured Eddyline and Asher Brewing. Customers really liked the Asher Organic IPA and Crany Yanker IPA (a customer fav). Robin has been a beer nerd at Pettyjohn’s since dinosaurs roamed the planet. Come say hello tonight!

Odell 5 Barrel Pale Ale
Named for the five different hops used in making the 5 Barrel Pale Ale, this beer is one of the long time staples in the Odell lineup. The malt presence is less in the 5 Barrel, which makes for a hoppy, crisp finish. 38 IBUs, 5.2% ABV.
Odell IPA
The Odell IPA is a flawless beer for it’s style, so if you don’t like this one then you probably just don’t like IPAs. The IPA has a more malty profile compared to the 5 Barrel, which gives the IPA a wonderful balance. Sweet citrusy fruit notes shine through perfectly without over washing the malts and hops. 60 IBUs, 7% ABV.
Odell Tree Shaker Imperial Peach IPA
Colorado’s Western Slope is home to some of the worlds best peaches, so it was only natural for Odell to think to make a beer with those peaches, and they came up with the Tree Shaker Imperial Peach IPA. The peach flavor is easily present but does not over take the Imperial IPA, which finishes nice and hoppy. 48 IBUs, 8% ABV.

Odell Myrcenary IPA

Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is a tribute to hops. Brewed wit a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPS prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway. Available year round. 80 IBUs, 9.3% ABV.
