Thirsty Thursday Beer Tasting

This week, we have our friends at the new Snarf’s South Boulder location giving out free swag, and five free sandwich samples. We will pair them with Upslope Brewing beer for one of our tastiest collaborations.

Last week Robin poured Odell Brewing. People who usually like St. Lupulin didn’t as much and people who never had it, loved it. Their session beer, Splice, was also a hit. Robin has been a beer nerd at Pettyjohn’s for six and a half years and he loves to see new faces. We hope to see some tonight!

OUR THURSDAY LINE-UP:

Upslope Craft Lager
   Upslope Craft Lager
The Craft Lager is a premium American lager brewed entirely of malted barley and Saaz Hops. Of all the Upslope’s beers, the Craft Lager is the most sessional beer at 4.8% ABV and only 15 IBUs (international bitter units). You’ll find that this beer complements outdoor summer activities, and for many is a light pounder beer with more craft than the domestic top dogs.
Upslope Pale Ale
Next up from Upslope we have the Pale Ale. Light and golden in color, this Ale is perfect when you want a less hoppy pale ale (36 IBUs). The Pale Ale blends smooth malt flavors with a  unique spicy hop bitterness, ending with a nice dry finish. 5.8% ABV.
Upslope IPA
Ever wonder what the best selling beer at Pettyjohn’s is? Well you guessed it, it is Upslope’s IPA. This IPA is a deeper copper color than the Pale Ale and has a more complex malt characteristic. Compared to other micro IPAs out there Upslope’s is less hoppy with only 65 IBUs, and perhaps is why the people love it so. 7.2% ABV
Upslope Brown Ale
Last up is the darkest beer in the Upslope lineup, the Brown Ale. Engish in tradition, but American in approach, this rich malty ale has an assertive hop character (45 IBUs). Sweet malt aroma and flavors come through as coffee and chocolate, yet this ale keep a smooth, dry finish. 6.7% ABV.
