Thirsty Thursday Beer Tasting- Odd13 + Free Oskar Blues BBQ

Robin has been sticking his neck out lately for all beer lovers to find extremely interesting brews. This week he will pour four imbibements sure to please all of those who are a little off. Odd13 has a kind of cult following, namely because of the comic-book style labeling and also because they don’t shy away from trying new recipes, from weiss with kale and cucumber to sours with cherries and chocolate. Please join us tonight from 5-7pm for our FREE, in-store, weekly, Thirsty Thursday beer tasting. Last week, no-necked Robin poured Finkel & Garf. Everyone seemed to enjoy their Wheat with cherries and the Imperial Red. Robin has been a beer connoisseur at Pettyjohn’s for six and a half years and we’re excited to have him start spreading his passion to our community. Hope to see you tonight!

Odd13 Codename: Superfan – American IPA
   Odd13 Codename Superfan
Codename: Superfan is a deliciously modern take on the American IPA style, brewed with a variety of juicy American hops from the Pacific Northwest. The finish is bone dry, making this a great IPA to choose on a warm day.
Odd13 Eric the Red – Red IPA
Eric is a hop-lover’s delight, packing the hops of an IPA into a red ale. A mosaic dry hop dominates, adding an aroma of peach, mango and other tropical fruit. Citra, Simcoe, and CTZ round out the hop bill, adding addition tropical fruit and herbal notes.
Odd13 Vincent Van Couch – American Session Sour
The Vincent Van Couch is a moderately sour beer with floral and citrus notes from significant late hopping and dry hopping. Significant Brettanomyces (i.e. the main yeast strain used to create the sour taste in beer) blends with the hops and acidity to create a truly unique beer.

Odd13 Super Sneak Hop – Bursted Sour

Last up we have the Super Sneak, which is part of Odd13’s rotating seasonal “Sinister Sour Cans.” The Beer is soured in the kettle until the target PH is reached, at which point it is boiled to kill the Lacto. It is massively hopped at the end of the boil (some people call this hop-bursting) with tropical flavored hops, while also dry hoped later. They use six strains of Brett in Super Sneak to achieve the wonderfully sour flavor.
