Vivanco White Rioja 2014- Reg. $14.99 SALE $11.99

Located in the “90 Point Wines for under $20” display, this received a “92” from wine reviewer James Suckling. Vivanco is pioneering the use of Tempranillo Blanco, a natural mutation of the popular red varietal exclusive to Rioja grown in limited quantities. Blended with other native varietals, Viura and Malvasia, this white is fresh with crisp aromas of green apple and peach backed by subtle hints of grass. Citrus and tropical fruit flavors flood the palate. Vinified entirely in stainless steel, enjoy this well-balanced wine while young.

Guigal Côtes Du Rhône Rosé 2014- Reg. $16.99 SALE $13.99

While located in our Favorite Whites Display, this also received a 90 point rating from Robert Parker. Yes, you can enjoy rose in January. The Wine Advocate – “One of the best rosés is Guigal’s 2014 Côtes du Rhône Rosé, which checks in as a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. Sporting a lighter raspberry color (this cuvee normally has a slightly darker color), it gives up lots of sweet cherry, strawberry, honeysuckle and Provencal herb characteristics to go with a medium-bodied, rounded, beautifully supple and textured feel on the palate. This is a classic Côtes du Rhône that has both freshness and texture. Drink it over the coming 12-16 months. “

Kenwood Jack London Zinfandel 2012 – Reg. $22.99 SALE $17.99

Located in our “WE Have Zinned” display, but also a 93 pointer from Wine and Spirits. “Kenwood has made wine from this vineyard on Jack London’s former hillside ranch since 1976. There have been vineyards here since the 1860s, but London’s descendant Milo Shepard began planting this current site in 1972, the vines situated among live oaks on the volcanic soil of Sonoma Mountain’s eastern flank. This vintage is wild and refreshing, with clean lines and a silky structure that’s as fine as beach sand. It smells like a tisane of rose hips, raspberry leaves and bark, its red fruit tangy and energetic, note hyperripe or heavily extracted.

Ironstone Cabernet Franc 2014- Reg. $13.99 SALE $9.99

Ironstone Wines from the Kautz family is located in our “Winery Focus” display, and our first to taste from this winery. Cabernet Franc is an ancient French grape varietal linked as one of Cabernet Sauvignon’s parent grape (crossed with Sauvignon Blanc). Ironstone Vineyards Cabernet Franc, grown in a variety of distinct growing regions, is known for its balance and medium body. The nose is full of bright berry fruit and toasty vanillas. On the palate, flavors include cherry, raspberry with oak undertones.
