J.P. Chenet Sparkling Brut- Reg. $13.99 SALE $9.99
The holidays just wouldn’t be the same without some sparkling wine and this beautiful wine is a perfect one for any occasion. Golden in color with a smidgen of green highlights this wine looks great in a glass. The nose is light and fruity with white citrus and brioche hints. On the palate its got fresh fruit, apricots and white peach. Its bold wine but well balanced and finishes nice and crisp. Serve is as an aperitif or crack one open and have it with brunch; It’s sure to make everyone happy.
Chateau De Chaintre Chardonnay- Reg. $17.99 SALE $15.99
With Thanksgiving coming up it wouldn’t be right to not put some wines that pair well with Turkey in our tasting. This beautiful Chardonnay is just such a wine. Strong minerality with slight lemon notes on the palate, it’s a well balanced wine between the roundness and freshness of the citrus. The nose compliments the palate with it’s equally bright and clean lemony notes. It’s not as heavy or as buttery as the California Chardonnays and is perfect to serve with a lighter meat like turkey.
Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau- Reg. $11.99 SALE $9.99
The wait is over! This wine is released once a year, and under French law it is released the third Thursday of November, one week before Thanksgiving. It’s a representation of France’s harvest having barely any time to ferment. Light and fruity with little tannin and can be enjoyed slightly chilled. It’s a fun wine with great tradition behind it and it just so happens that it also pairs well with the typical Thanksgiving day foods.
Carpineto Montepulciano- Reg. $29.99 SALE $24.99
Last but certainly not least, is a wonderful red from Italy. Brilliant red, it pours beautifully into  a glass. Tuscan Sangiovese aged in oak barrels, it is the picture of elegance. In the nose it has hints of violet and wood along side the fruit. On the palate it is velvety and fruity.  It’s smooth texture leads into a long and lingering finish. The up-front fruit and nice acid in the finish creates another perfect wine for Thanksgiving. Next month it will be on the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of the year, we bought enough for South Boulder to enjoy through the New Year.
