Friday, July 24 Wine Tasting

Can you believe August is right around the corner? The summer is cruising along with intentions of stepping off the gas pedal. The warm-weather Whites and Rosés have been a huge success and we are not ready to stop bringing in new, delicious wine geared toward the glory of backyard BBQ’s, poolside shindigs, and sunshine. Tonight we continue to show off the wine that has made our summer one to remember with four wines that are new to our shelves this week. Stop by tonight for our FREE in-store tasting from 5-7 to sample our first Spanish Rosé of the season, a WOW white, and two reds that we think everyone need to know about! See you tonight!

Protocolo 2014 Rosé – Reg. $10.99 SALE $8.99

Talk about bang for your buck! This Rosé is killer and soooo affordable! A very attractive and inexpensive rosé, this wine offers strawberry and licorice aromas and delicious sweet-and-sour dry berry and banana flavors. Light and tangy on the palate, it closes dry and spicy, with a slight mineral note. Rosé season is quickly coming to a close- so stock up!

Halter Ranch Côtes de Paso Blanc- Reg. $24.99 SALE $21.99

Côtes de Paso Blanc is a clever way to label a unique domestic blend of grapes that are best known to grow in the Rhone Valley. This Paso blend is composed of 75% Grenache Blanc, 20% Picpoul Blanc, 3% Roussanne, and 2% Viognier. It is crazy cool to see something like this from California! Reminiscent of the wines of Southern France, this Grenache Blanc blend has aromas and flavors of honey, white flowers, melons and pear. Delicious on its own, this wine also pairs beautifully with hearty salads, prosciutto & melon, and anything from the sea.

Tintero Vino Rosso- Reg. $13.49 SALE $10.49

This is another wine that we think is just way too cool! A blend of red grapes from Piedmont that come together like nothing we have ever tasted. With bright fruit on the nose and on the palate with a medium dryness and hint of spice, it’s so versatile that you can drink it for lunch or dinner. It is a fun blend of Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and a splash of Cabernet Franc. This is skillfully done and an affordable, crowd-pleasing red- great to bring to party even if you do not know what is being served.Yummy!

Chacewater Sierra Foothills 2012 Merlot- Reg. $17.99 SALE $16.99

Merlot is back and possibly better than ever! Wonderful aromas of plum, black olive and green tea introduce this smooth, juicy Merlot. Good depth and a soft, round mouth-feel contain layers of black cherry, vanilla and earthy notes. The finish is persistent with nuances of toasty oak, ripe fruit and lush tannins.

See you at 5!
